Contend – What does it mean?

Cagayan de Oro:
The prophetic anointing will come upon the City.
The Lord’s rains will come upon this City continually not only in the churches but even upon the people walking in the streets.
The Lord will rise up youths. They will be like fire people who will receive words from the Lord. They will be prophets that will receive from the lord.
Scrolls of the Lord:
It will be the City where angels are known to ascend and descend
Angels will come and meet the people
Angels will Meet the youths specifically the young girls
Angels will Meet the small children
Even when the children are sleeping they will wake them up like Samuel
Angels will surround the city
The anointing that the Lord will pour out on the City will be different
Eyes will open, ears will open
Taken to spiritual realm
As John heard the voice of the Lord say “come up!”
As john went to heaven youth will hear the voice often
Like Ezekiel the lord stretched the hand of Ezekiel and took him to different place and the same experiences will be experienced by the youth of the city
they will walk in secret places in heaven.
They will hear the chariots in their ears
Cagayan de Oro City will be known as the City where angels ascend and descend
God has promised a special blessing for this City…”

Words as the Lord spoke through His servant the prophet Vincent Selvakumar in the 24th National Prayer Gathering. I believe this is not just the prophecy being given to this City – there’s a lot more.

Prophecy can be disqualified in some reasons. Of course, on top of those is that our enemy (Satan himself) does not like the idea that all of us would grasp what God has stored for us. He will do his (the enemy) best to snatch it away.

What should we do then?

Contend!

As I have searched on the dictionary, Contend means to strive in opposition or against difficulties, to struggle for.

Observe this illustration: you have a property – a great property that has been given to you by your father. He gave it you since he knew that you need it and he only think of what’s best for you. Then one day, a stranger would just drop by and would snatch it all away – the property, the blessings that your father has given you. What would you do?

Of course you would react and fight for your right! It’s yours – you would not let anyone to just snatch it away, right?

Contend!

God has been revealing to his servants’ (the prophets) great things that He will do for the Philippines. It’s our nation! It’s my nation! For us Christians and for us Filipinos, we should fight for our right – contend so that those prophecies would come to pass! Let us not give the enemy a chance to snatch it away! Let us strive in opposition to his (the enemy) agenda! Let us struggle for our inheritance!

“I will contend for this nation’s prophecy. I want to stand in God’s will and promises for the Philippines.”

God bless Israel! God bless the Philippines!

God bless the Philippines!

God bless the Philippines!

Do you want to have Change?

Committing mistakes do come – sometimes it’s inevitable. As we all knew of it, it does help us grow. However, doing the same mistake repeatedly, that’s a problem. There should be something wrong why, that out of the learning stage, the same mistakes do come.

Change is necessary…

“Change of what?” you might ask. Change of every factor that leads you to that certain dilemma.

Let’s go straight with this. Majority of those mistakes we commit are referred to as sins that bound us for a long time already: Sins that won’t go away with just a tearful prayer of self change in a moment.

Have you tried praying, asking God to change you for you to become a better person? Most of the time, the sin itself linger. You know why? The concept of change is not of “how we have to” but of “how we need to” do so.

See the difference?

A “have to” prayer implies something that God should change you because you do not want the current you. I mean, without even valuing what has been happening all along – for its entire purpose. There’s a lot of “you” in this matter.  In fact, it talks about you, the better you, the you who want to change, you, you and you. Where’s God now? Have you considered what He had planned for you?

The “need to” then is this, a plea for something that is in line to God’s will and purpose in our lives – a complete surrender. He knows what’s best for you(Jer.29:11). If God has great plans for us, then, why insist ours? His “great” is way beyond our “greatest”.

Do you want to change? Let it be that it would give God the glory.

Second time Around…

For beginners like me, it is just so hard – so hard to have even an appointment to any client, how much more to close a deal? Contractors nowadays are so keen in terms of equipment buying. However, I am not losing any amount of hopes that I have within me. The fight should go on!

“Rrrrrrrrrrrrr….”, just felt my phone vibrated within my pocket.

It is a text from my client in Tacurong City asking me if we have any available 14 ton road roller. Without any second thought, I replied immediately.

After a minute of sending the reply, she called me. I was on a cab that time going to another client in Davao City. With our conversation, I have told her my offers, the price, the services we offered and a lot more just to make sure that she would really get the unit from us. I know for sure that the client has a great need, can afford and the transaction is righteous. She told me that she will open it up to her husband since the final decision back lies to his.

I was just so eager that time to close the said deal. From time to time, I kept on sending offers to Maam Elna(the one who called me). Perhaps she was so bombarded by my offers, she sent to me the number of her husband – the owner of the company and the buyer himself. I succeeded in getting the hold-on-to the person who has the decision.

Sir Betalac(the buyer and the husband) and I were talking many stuffs about the units – its specification and all. He asked me to send it brochures including its picture to his email address. I was just so excited about the transaction that I even forgot my other schedule that day just to finish my transaction on this one.

“I was expecting that it is the Liugong unit you are selling”. These were his words when called to me the next day. My jaw dropped – it was like I was punched in the face!

Liugong is our competitor – one of the greatest competitors. I never thought that he have not realized that I was selling Lonking brand to him (that’s the brand we are carrying). It was just so surprising and heart-dropping situation.

I began to ponder and pray for it – that God would give me the strength and victory over the transaction. Despite of that, I kept on calling and texting him about the unit, everyday; always showing the key qualities that our units have. Good thing was Liugong’s unit and ours have the same price! So what I did, I focus on our offer that our competitor cannot afford – the inhouse financing that has ZERO interest rate.

I tell you, I really do have the favour of the Lord. After a week of transaction, Mr. Betalac asked me as to where our display centres in Manila so that it can be checked by her sister. I immediately responded.

Praise God! The next morning, Mr. Betalac has already sent his down payment for the unit – it was a CLOSED DEAL! Yahooooooooooo!

And by the way, before I forgot. The transaction was also being made only through phone calls and email messages. I never have met Mr. Betalac until we delivered his ordered units to his area. Amazing isn’t it? My first two closed deals were done just by phone conversation.

Tell me, God is really great, right? Praise God!

Its the same unit with the first one though:

The first unit I have sold...now, the second time around.

The first unit I have sold…now, the second time around.

First Time…

It was a hot afternoon back then when I was walking in the streets of Davao City – having a long day searching and visiting up clients for my long awaited first ever sales(for more than 8 months – such a long time, right?) I was just so desperate enough that while walking, I was saying silent prayers. Those dramatic event just simply put a little amount of tears in my eyes though.

Then, my phone rang! It was a call from Sir Rex Altamira! He’s a contractor that has an office in Ilo-ilo City. By then, my career has stepped up a bit and made me experience a numerous of first time…

First time to close a deal

It was just so fast. I mean, that afternoon when he called me, he asked for the prices, the freight if the unit will be delivered to his area and a lot of stuffs. I was like answering of it with a great smile on my face! 3 days after our talk, he called me once again. He was already in the bank and was about to send the down payment of the unit. Wow! Then my boss and some staffs in the office began to congratulate me, it was indeed so great! The feeling of closing a deal. By the way, Sir Altamira have ordered a 14 ton road roller from me.

The first unit I have sold...

The first unit I have sold…

First time to ride an Airplane

You might laugh at me but its true. I guess, the price of closing a deal is not all about the money though. I never though that closing a deal would make one of my dreams come true! Take note, I have ridden the plane ALL ALONE. Yep! You read it right. It was just me who rode the plane going to Sir Altamira’s place. Amazing!

First time to met Sir Altamira

I am not joking. We have been doing the transactions all over the phone and exchanging email messages. I was so favored in this transaction. It is never easy to close any transaction/s that concerns millions of money over the phone. Praise God for His answer to my prayer. Do you want to experience it as well? P R A Y…

First time to receive bigger Incentives

Well, as part of growing up, all I have been receiving was my allowance, gifts and some “balato” of those who have much. My time did came when I have received a bit bigger out from the transaction. Its all worth it though – from the investment of time, money and prayers.

They say that the hardest part of being a salesman is the first sale. Well, I have made it! I know that there are more “closed” deals that I will be having in the near future. Will surely do my best for it – with God’s guidance above all.

When the Journey starts…

Let me go straight with this, it was indeed an unexpected event.

It was one great day when I was too busy finishing up my requirements in school(its a one long long story that made me graduate a year later though), I was in 5th year college back then. However, despite of being busy in school, I really took time to send some application letters to the “well-known” companies that would somehow befits on my course. Submit here and there etc.

Then my mum called me…

“Be their NOW because someone needs personnel in his company… wear somewhat like formal, its for the interview”, mum’s words to me through phone.

Without any thought, I went home, change clothes and immediately went to the place as to where she told me. (alongside with my sister as well).

As to my surprise, it was the company of our church-mate. Really do not know if I will be happy with it ’cause I’m sure I’ll be having some favors or be nervous ’cause I know he will be expecting much out of me.

The interview was great, it really triggered up my curiosity in this by business – I know for myself that I am called to be in this niche. With God’s approval, I accepted the job offer…

As to make the long story short…

Here I am now, one of the Product Manager1 of EAGLE Equipment Company, Inc.. It’s been a year now since that day and though admittedly, there were times I have questioned my decision – as to the job offers I have refused to as well but, the zeal within me never decreased. In fact, it has been increasing since the day One.

I am expecting much with my job – I know that God will use this to bring me to greater heights… I know that this will be an amazing Journey for me.
